Brief of CPN annual meeting 2011

After the annual meeting 2011, CPN board held the first meeting me on Sunday 6. November 2011 at Bao Hiamiao’s home (see the attached picture. Tao Qianru was not available due to traveling). Following issues were discussed:

1. New CPN board member

Ruan Gusong withdrew from CPN board because of personal reasons. Since CPN election will be in 2012, a previous board member, Professor Cai Xing is asked to come back to the CPN board.

2. The main assignments of the new CPN board are:

President: Wang Xinli

Vice president: Zhang Xiuhua and Cai Xing

Seminar about teenager immigrants on Nov 15th. 2011, 17:00-19:30 at Undervisningsrom 1 in UiO´s blibrary

On November 15th, CPN Junior Club, together with CPN will hold a seminar about teenager immigrants. Teenagers with immigrant background in Norway, who are immersed with the culture of their parents, could face challenges one way or another. Some have to learn a new language; some find it difficult to adjust themselves to the new school; some wonder how they can be more social. On the other hand, parents with immigrant background sometimes also feel conflicts when they communicate with their child(ren) who grow up in Norway. This time, we are very pleased to invite Mr.

OXLO Fotokonkurranse og Utstilling: "Innvandreres liv i Norge"
- Et CPN prosjekt finansiert av Enhet for mangfold og integrering (EMI)

I forbindelse med OXLO 10år Jubileum, har CPN fått støtte av EMI til å arrangere en fotokonkurranse med tema "Innvandreres liv i Norge". Et bilde sier mer enn tusen ord. Innvandrerergrupper i Norge har beriket landet med sine fargerike klærer, mat, dekorasjon, musikk, dans, og kultur. De blir en stadig viktigere ressurskilde for Norge. Derfor er det viktig å avbilde positive bidrag fra innvandrerbefolkning og la bilder fortelle liv og historie i OXLO by.

Successful social gathering in late summer -- Blaafarveværket visit

Our social gathering to visit Blaafarveværket was successfully held on Saturday 17th September 2011. More than 91 participants joined the gathering and celebrated the traditional Chinese Moon Festival together.

This gathering was a part of CPN’s project 'Kompetansesenter for Innvandrere', supported by IMDi (The Directorate of Integration and Diversity). The event was jointly organized by CPN, CPN Junior club and Kinaforeningen (Association for Norwegian families with adopted children from China).

IMDi Project Gathering – sopp tur 2011

Chinese Professionals in Norway (CPN, www.cpn2003.no) is planning for a mush room trip on Sunday 25. September 2011. The activity is specially arranged for new immigrants and comers, who recently came to Norway for the work.

Time: We will meet at Sognsvann T-bane station 13:00.
13:00 – 15:30 nature adventure (in group) to pick up mushrooms or walk around Sognsvann.
